The Insurance Claims Specialist will be responsible for servicing auto loan accounts by managing physical damage and total loss claims.
Essential Responsibilities
- Follow and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local laws/regulations.
- Process and file physical damage, total loss, and GAP claims with insurance agencies and other third party administrators.
- Issue Letters of Guarantee for assets declared as a total loss.
- Negotiate claim resolutions with insurance agencies and/or third party administrators to maximize recovery and minimize losses to the company.
- Analyze data used in settling claims to ensure that claims are valid and that settlements are made according to company policies and procedures.
- Obtain repair estimates, and/or total loss or diminished values.
- Accurately and professionally document account information and collection activities.
- Consult with the legal department on claims requiring litigation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
- 3 year(s) of insurance claims experience, preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills with the ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state and local collections regulations.
- Detail oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Available to work a flexible work schedule and overtime as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
