Assistant Merchant

Overview:

Veronica Beard is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Merchant to support the execution of merchandising strategies and business objectives for RTW Soft Wovens (Tops, Dresses, and Skirts). This individual will partner closely with the RTW Senior Merchant to help drive department goals and support the continued growth of Veronica Beard’s global RTW business.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain line sheets and track style counts throughout all stages of development
• Maintain product attributes across systems on a seasonal basis
• Update weekly selling reports and analyze business performance to highlight key takeaways and top sellers
• Support month-end and quarter-end reporting, including selling decks and attribute deep dives
• Assist with sample organization and management pre-market, during market, and post-market, working closely with Production and Product Development to request and track samples in a timely manner
• Partner with Creative teams to ensure samples are available for e-comm and marketing needs
• Support JOOR photoshoots and showroom setup, ensuring readiness for market and presentations
• Support Senior Merchant in seasonal assortment building and DTC buying process during Market
• Communicate updates and changes to the line across cross-functional teams
• Act as a liaison between Design, Sales, Buying, and Production teams to support alignment
• Develop and maintain Product Knowledge Guides for Sales, E-comm, and Store teams
• Stay informed on market trends and competitive landscape to help identify opportunities
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Requirements:

• 1–2 years of merchandising and/or buying experience
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support business insights
• Proficiency Excel and PowerPoint (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reporting, and presentation building)
• Solid financial acumen, understanding of retail math and key KPIs (sell-through, WOS, inventory, etc.)
• Strong understanding of market trends and competitive landscape, with a passion for product
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain reporting to identify risks, opportunities, and key business drivers
• Proactive and eager to learn, with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative team player who works well cross-functionally while also taking ownership of individual responsibilities

The hourly range for this role is between $24.00 and $25.00. The relevant hourly rate will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications.
