Veronica Beard is seeking a Third-Party Assistant Buyer who is an ambitious, adaptable learner that can thrive in this ever-evolving landscape. The Third-Party Assistant Buyer will play a pivotal role in identifying third-party partners that enhance global brand visibility and engage new audiences. This individual will be responsible for helping to identify opportunities that align with Veronica Beard’s brand positioning and enhance the VB merchandising strategy, allowing for significant impact on the growth and expansion of the VB brand portfolio. The role requires a blend of creative, operational, and analytical skills to foster meaningful relationships, enhance brand visibility, and ensure a curated product offering with clear success metrics attached. The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker, process-oriented and an operational executor with a passion for fashion and innovation.
This role reports to our Director of Merchandising and is based in our NYC office.
Main business partners: SVP of Merchandising & entire Merchandising team; Marketing & Events Team; Director and Manager-Brand Visual Merch; Ops Team; Creative Team
Responsibilities:
Third-Party Curation:
- Product Assortment and Curation:
- Work with Director of Merchandising to execute seasonal third-party product strategies based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales data for each season
- Collaborate with DTC buying and planning teams to augment the VB product mix aligned with business goal.
- Collaborate with events team to provide exclusive 3rd party product to special markets during peak seasonal times
- Execute POs, buy file upkeep and distribution for relevant 3rd party product
- Develop strong relationships with third-party vendors, securing exclusive product offerings when possible.
- Product Launches and Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with marketing, creative, retail, and e-comm teams to promote and launch third-party products across digital and physical channels; partner with wholesale team where relevant.
- Work closely with the design, merchandising, marketing, and retail teams to align third-party products with overall brand strategies, assortments and seasonal campaigns.
- Partner with the visual team to ensure a clear in-store display strategy for all initiatives, inclusive of visual merchandising, signage, and window support.
- Market Research, Trend Analysis, and Reporting:
- Maintain a close eye on trending brands and themes through consistent competitive shopping analysis both in-stores and online
- Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging brands to identify new opportunities for third-party partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Buying or a related field.
- 1-3 years’ experience in brand collabs, partnerships, and buying in the fashion or luxury retail sector.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, brand development, and consumer behavior.
- Exceptionally detail oriented and organized to manage multiple brands at one time, across 4 different seasons.
- Able to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate directly and effectively with senior leadership and Founders.
- Proficient in retail buying software, Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools.

The hourly rate for this role is between $24.00 and $26.00. The relevant hourly rate will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications. The hourly rate is just one component of our total compensation offerings, which consist of a comprehensive benefits package as well as a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.
