Position Summary
Vero Orthopaedics is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Authorization & Clinical Support Specialist to support our clinical teams by managing prior authorizations and assisting with administrative and operational tasks. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely patient care, accurate documentation, and smooth clinic operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain prior authorizations for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Botox and injectable therapies, procedures, medications, and imaging as needed
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage with payers
- Submit, track, and follow up on authorization requests
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff regarding authorization requirements
- Communicate authorization outcomes with providers and clinical staff
- Accurately document authorization details in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Assist with patient communication, record requests, scheduling support, data entry, and chart preparation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and organizational policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience with insurance authorizations or healthcare administration preferred
- Knowledge of DME and payer authorization processes preferred
- Experience in a medical or clinical office setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs. and use computers and phones for extended periods.
