Position: Bookkeeper/Secretary for Food & Nutrition Services Department
Description & Essential Functions: The Administration is seeking a person qualified by education and experience to carry out the duties assigned to the position and in general, to establish and maintain a high level of standards of excellence in the Vernon Public Schools. Assist the Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services in facilitating the cafeteria affairs of the district through the supervision of the many office-related tasks under direction and guidance of the Director.
Essential functions include:
- Answer telephones, record messages and greet visitors
- Reconcile Food Service bills and invoices; process requisitions
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Prepare journal entries
- Debt management (unpaid meal charges)
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Reconcile daily deposits and cafeteria sales
- Place orders for delivery to the schools
- Approve time entry and process absence reporting corrections for all cafeteria personnel
Is familiar with negotiated contract language of bargaining unit

Salary and Benefits: $40,000 - $50,000 depending on experience. Please see attached job responsibilities and job description. Health Benefits are included with this position.
Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:30PM Monday - Friday in the office
Start date: Position to start as soon as possible

High School Diploma required
Quickbooks experience preferred
