Job Summary
The Front Desk Representative is responsible for welcoming all new and returning patients, serving as the first point of contact for individuals entering the Medical Center. This role requires strong communication skills, exceptional customer service, and the ability to support patients through the registration and check‑in process. The Front Desk Representative plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience and smooth entry into CAHN’s system of care.
Essential Functions
The following duties are considered essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with the ADA to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.
- Perform all front desk duties, including patient registration and insurance verification.
- Attend daily morning huddles at assigned locations.
- Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, and verify accuracy of demographic and insurance information.
- Obtain and confirm identification and insurance documentation.
- Assist uninsured or underinsured patients with self‑pay processes.
- Follow up on missed or canceled appointments.
- Explain CAHN’s system of care and available programs to new patients.
- Educate patients on the importance of scheduling and keeping appointments.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for all patients and visitors.
- Ensure high‑quality customer service for patients, clients, and vendors.
- Prepare and present reports detailing the status and progress of the Patient Services Representative division.
- Call patients to schedule follow‑up visits after telehealth appointments.
- Generate and balance end‑of‑day payment reports.
- Monitor and verify supply needs; complete supply checklists.
- Submit daily assignment checklists to the Team Lead.
- Perform basic office tasks, including typing, faxing, scanning, and phone communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Monday-Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. - Occasional extended hours
- On-site position
