JOB SUMMARY
Day Porter is responsible for making sure the Capital Area Health Network looks neat and presentable to the public. Day Porter will help uphold the image of all assigned Capital Area Health Network facilities by performing basic maintenance tasks, including trash removal, upkeep of all lobby areas, and restroom restocks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Inspect all public lavatories for cleanliness and maintenance of an adequate supply of toiletries for replenishment of soap, hand towels, toilet paper, sanitary products (if applicable), and toilet seat covers. Clean the mirrors. Wipe down sinks and toilets. Remove dirt, stains, and trash. Floors around toilet fixtures and under urinals should be mopped a minimum of once per day using an approved disinfectant cleaner.
• Police patrol public areas continuously, being picked up throughout the day. Removing all litter, and damp mopping a minimum of once per day using approved disinfectant cleaner.
• Police building entrances for removal of all litter, debris, and trash, including cigarette butts, during the work day. Entrances should appear neat and orderly at all times.
• Pick up trash as required/ requested.
• Perform all assigned cleaning tasks via the work order system.
• Clean interior and exterior surfaces of lobby windows, windowsills, and doors.
• Check elevator cabs, vacuum out elevator cabs, and clean off cab doors, outside calls, interior cab buttons, and interior walls. Remove and/ or clean up any debris or soil, such as cigarette butts, chewing gums, coffee spills, etc.
• Police the assigned exterior perimeter of the buildings to remove cigarette butts, papers, litter, and other debris. Sweep standing water and ensure that the area is in a neat and orderly condition. Additional clean-up beyond policing may be required from time to time.
• Remove trash from trash cans/ receptacles on the exterior property and replacement of trash can liners. Clean trash cans and receptacles monthly.
• Complete assigned "work orders", including but not limited to moving office-related furniture, equipment, and supplies on an as-needed basis. Clean the interiors of refrigerators and defrost them periodically. Work ordered will also include tasks related to function set-ups and take-downs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, the hours of operation, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, with potentially extended hours.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred but not required
• Driver's License and clean driving record required
• High School diploma and/or GED required.
