ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL - VHHS
Overview: The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support for the Principal and others as needed/assigned.
Reports to: Principal
Employee Status: Educational Support Professional - Principal’s Administrative Assistant
ESP Bargaining Union
Calendar: Twelve-Month Employee, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Qualifications: Education and experience equivalent to high school graduation
Professional/Personal Characteristics:
- Previous experience in an educational setting preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently under varying deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient with Google G-Suite, office and phone equipment
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Principal and others as needed/assigned
- Determine matters of top priority and handle accordingly
- Schedule meetings and arrange conference rooms
- Handle information requests
- Greet and receive visitors. Direct the general public to the appropriate staff member.
- Prepare confidential and sensitive documents
- Prepare correspondence and prepare for mailing or mass email
- Coordinate major school events such as graduation, open house, 8th grade orientation, honors night
- Assist in coordinating office/resource area needs
- Assist in building budget creation and analysis
- Assist in building purchases
- Maintain office procedures
- Operate office equipment, e.g. photocopy machine
- Maintain hard copy and electronic filing system
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor(s)
