Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua, WI is looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its collaborative and innovative Urgent Care team. This regular part-time position involves providing high-quality patient care in the Urgent Care setting to our dynamic rural community.

This role is perfect for an experienced APP looking to make an immediate difference in urgent care operations while gaining competency through collaboration with board-certified emergency physicians in the care of urgent care patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urgent care to patients across all age groups in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Perform assessments, diagnostics, and treatment plans for a variety of acute and chronic conditions.
• Assist with urgent care services, as needed, in a critical access setting.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care, primarily in an urgent care setting.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes in the emergency and urgent care departments.
  
  

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current certification as a PA-C or NP and licensure to practice in Wisconsin (or ability to obtain.)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications required.
• Experience in emergency or critical care settings preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
