Overview
Vernon Homes in southern Vermont is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Maintenance to oversee and enhance our facility operations on campus. The Director of Maintenance will lead a team of maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations such as OSHA and Life Safety Code.
- Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Develop and implement maintenance management strategies, focusing on continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, HVAC, and other industrial equipment.
- Track maintenance tasks and performance metrics.
- Foster effective communication within the team and across departments to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Must possess a 2-year degree in facility management OR equivalent 5-years experience
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain Class 2 Water Operator
- Must be certified or have the ability to obtain Life Safety Code and OSHA Certificate
- Proven experience in a maintenance management role within healthcare
- Proficiency in computers using Excel, Microsoft, and other software necessary for duty for effective maintenance planning and execution.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques is a plus.
