Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo equipment, and other material handling machinery to load and unload shipments.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning tools, and manual counts to ensure accuracy.
- Pick and prepare orders with precision using order picker equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or coordinate maintenance needs to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols to prevent accidents during heavy lifting and materials handling.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock in designated areas, managing manual handling tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks, reach trucks, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management practices.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and forklift safety protocols to promote a safe working environment.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining proper form and safety standards.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry accuracy.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving operations or warehouse distribution is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team.
