Career Programs VISTA

Vermont Works for Women (VWW) is seeking a VISTA volunteer for the 2026-2027 year to help us with our career services programs. VWW career programs offer 1:1, group, and online support/services to help improve job acquisition and retention and increase economic earnings and security for women across Vermont. 

The VISTA will help us to meaningfully expand our capacity to connect low-income women and job seekers across Vermont with the tools, networks and workplace conditions they need to thrive economically. The VISTA will:

• support the growth of our Build Your Skills resources and self-paced curriculum to include the creation and release of planned courses, and the identification or creation of new resources based on current career development trends. 
• assist with establishing a new suite of employer-facing resources designed to support retention strategies and workplace conditions that help employees thrive.
• assist with redesigning the Career Mentor Network processes/program so mentors and mentees can more easily connect with less administrative oversight, and with expanding the network by building a small business focus to include mentor recruitment, participant outreach, and guidance development.

This is a full-time VISTA position running from August 2026 through August 2027. VISTA provides volunteers with a living allowance, relocation allowance, and education award among other benefits. VWW provides an additional $160/month grocery or gas stipend. This position would involve a mix of time working in the main office in Winooski, VT, traveling to programs around the state, and teleworking.
