Role Summary
The Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of goods, ensuring accurate inventory records, and supporting operational efficiency. This role oversees receiving, inspecting, stocking, auditing, and reconciling inventory while maintaining system accuracy within the inventory management platforms.

Responsibilities
Receiving & Inspection
- Verify, inspect, and log incoming shipments against purchase orders
- Identify and document damages, shortages, or inaccuracies
- Ensure timely and accurate system updates for received materials
- Collaborate with purchasing and quality teams to resolve receiving discrepancies
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records using inventory management systems
- Conduct routine, cycle, and full physical inventory counts
- Reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records
- Investigate root causes of variances and implement corrective actions
- Monitor inventory levels and partner with Supply Chain to prevent stockouts
- Analyze inventory trends, slow-moving items, and optimization opportunities
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movement, and performance metrics
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss
Shipping & Production Support
- Serve as backup support for preparing finished goods for shipment
- Verify accuracy of outgoing materials and documentation
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure correct materials are shipped
- Assist with return or disposal of obsolete or damaged inventory
Material Handling (Secondary Responsibility)
- Support storage, organization, and internal distribution of materials as needed
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) when required
Collaboration & Problem Solving
- Work cross-functionally with purchasing, quality, supply chain, and warehouse teams
- Investigate and resolve inventory-related issues
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment
Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in inventory management or a related role; 2-5 years experience required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and related technology
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reconciling inventory data
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices and procedures
- High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed
- Forklift experience desired. Forklift Certified (Certification available through the company)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is a plus
