Role Description The Account Manager – SMB is a full-time remote role responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of small and midsize business customers. Day-to-day activities include building strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and positioning Verizon Business solutions that align with their goals. The role involves preparing and delivering proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new accounts. The Account Manager monitors account performance, identifies opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, and collaborates with internal teams such as sales engineering, customer support, and marketing to address customer challenges. The position also requires maintaining accurate account records, forecasting sales, and meeting or exceeding assigned revenue and growth targets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in account management, sales, or customer success within B2B environments, preferably serving small and midsize businesses.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly and handle negotiations effectively.
- Solid understanding of business operations and the ability to translate customer needs into appropriate technology or network solutions.
- Comfort working in a remote environment, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and deadlines.
- Experience using CRM tools and basic sales analytics to track opportunities, forecast revenue, and report on account performance.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering positive outcomes and long-term value.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in telecommunications, technology, or related industries is beneficial but not required.
