About Veritas Voice and Speech LLC

Established in 2019, Veritas Voice and Speech LLC is a specialized private practice focused on voice, upper-airway, swallowing, and gender-affirming communication services. We are deeply committed to evidence-based, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQIA affirming care.

A major pillar of our practice is gender-affirming voice and communication training for transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients across the lifespan. We value clinicians who are thoughtful, collaborative, creative, self-directed, and excited to help shape the future of affirming voice care and specialty SLP services within Vermont.

This position is initially intended to provide clinical coverage during maternity leave, with transition into an ongoing long-term W2 role following the probationary period.

We are seeking an independent, forward-thinking clinician interested in helping expand the mission and reach of Veritas Voice and Speech LLC.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with strong interest and/or established specialization in gender-affirming voice and communication services.

Additional specialty interests or experience in the following areas are highly valued and may support future clinical expansion within the practice:

  • Voice disorders
  • Upper airway disorders
  • Swallowing assessment and dysphagia therapy
  • Instrumental swallowing and laryngeal evaluation

This is a full-time, hourly W2 position with scheduling flexibility and opportunity for long-term growth within the practice.

Typical caseload expectations include approximately:

  • 25 client sessions per week (maximum 30 clients)
  • Roughly 5-6 clients per day
  • Flexible scheduling structure depending on clinician preference and client needs

Examples may include:

  • Monday–Thursday clinical schedule
  • Tuesday–Friday clinical schedule
  • Monday–Friday shorter clinical days with flexible hours
  • Hybrid telehealth/in-person scheduling

The ideal candidate is highly organized, compassionate, adaptable, technologically comfortable, and motivated to contribute to program development and specialized clinical services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide gender-affirming voice and communication therapy to transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse adolescent and adult clients
  • Conduct comprehensive voice, upper airway, swallowing, and/or communication evaluations as appropriate for both pediatric and adult patients
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Utilize evidence-based voice therapy, dysphagia therapy, and motor learning principles
  • Incorporate asynchronous therapy and home practice platforms
  • Support clients in developing voices aligned with their own communication goals, identity, and comfort
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation
  • Independently and proactively participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with referring providers as appropriate
  • Contribute to development of educational materials, home programs, and evolving clinical programming
  • Participate in mentorship, case consultation, and professional development activities

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • CCC-SLP or CFY-eligible*
  • Eligibility for Vermont SLP licensure through the Office of Professional Regulation / OPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong interest in gender-affirming voice and communication services
  • Commitment to affirming, client-centered, trauma-informed care
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort and experience with technology and telepractice platforms

*Clinical Support & Mentorship

CFY applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply; however due to the specialized and largely autonomous nature of this role with limited direct in-person supervision during the initial probationary period, this position is likely best suited for a CCC-SLP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or specialized training in:
  • Gender-affirming voice therapy
  • Voice disorders
  • Swallowing assessment and dysphagia treatment
  • Singing voice rehabilitation
  • Resonance and acoustic analysis
  • Counseling and motivational interviewing
  • Interest in and/or commensurate experience with upper airway disorders and treatment
  • Experience with FEES and/or videostroboscopy considered a strong additional benefit
  • Familiarity with acoustic measures and voice instrumentation
  • Experience with telehealth service delivery (HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform)
  • Interest in clinical specialization and ongoing continuing education

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly W2 position
  • Compensation negotiable based on experience, specialization, and caseload
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • Opportunity for long-term employment beyond maternity leave coverage

Health Insurance Benefits

Following completion of the initial onboarding period and 90-day probationary period, employees may become eligible for health insurance reimbursement benefits through an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) model.

Technology & Work Environment

  • Majority of software platforms utilized are web-based and HIPAA compliant
  • Clinicians providing telehealth services exclusively will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining:
  • Their own computer
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • In-office instrumentation and specialty equipment for FEES and videostroboscopy are provided by the practice
  • Private office space is located in downtown Burlington, Vermont at 100 Main Street in Burlington, VT
  • Paid downtown Burlington parking spot is also provided for clinicians providing services in-person
