Overview
We are seeking a product-minded Business Systems Analyst (BSA) / Product Owner to support a high-visibility data transformation initiative. This role sits at the center of business and engineering, responsible for bringing clarity, structure, and direction to fast-moving, ambiguous work.
This is not a passive documentation role. The ideal candidate will guide stakeholders, challenge unclear requirements, and ensure engineering teams receive clean, actionable inputs to execute effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, clarify, and refine business requirements across cross-functional stakeholders
- Translate vague or incomplete requests into clear, structured, and actionable requirements
- Guide stakeholders who may not fully understand their needs or desired outcomes
- Define and organize scope, including priorities, dependencies, and open questions
- Act as a buffer between business stakeholders and engineering to reduce noise and ambiguity
- Ensure engineering teams receive well-defined, ready-to-build requirements
- Maintain documentation such as user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirement artifacts
- Support cross-functional collaboration across business, product, and engineering teams
- Bring structure and organization to a fast-moving, evolving transformation environment
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Systems Analyst
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, scoping, and documentation
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and guide unclear conversations to clarity
- Proven ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track priorities, dependencies, and scope
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data, analytics, or engineering teams
- Exposure to data platforms, reporting, or transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence)
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Technical literacy in areas such as data pipelines, SQL, or cloud platforms (not required to be hands-on)
