Senior Corporate Controller

Summary
The Senior Corporate Controller is a newly open opportunity within an award winning investment firm with over $40 billion in managed assets and offices throughout the US and UK. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will lead a team of 5 accounting and finance professionals and be responsible for a mixture of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and corporate finance functions. Based in the company’s headquarters located in midtown east New York City, the Senior Corporate Controller position will offer a 4 day in the office flexible schedule and a compensation package comprised of a base salary in the $225,000 to $250,000 range, an annual bonus target of 30% to 50%, and full suite of comprehensive benefits. Ideal candidates will have 12-15 plus years of professional experience, CPA, prior leadership experience, working knowledge of Workday accounting system, and related industry experience within financial services.
Senior Corporate Controller – Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements (in accordance with GAAP standards) and related Management reporting.
- Lead and mentor the corporate accounting team, streamlining processes and assigning tasks to the team members
- Manage the annual budgeting process and forecasts providing variance analysis and financial insights to senior management
- Direct responsibility and maintenance of the G/L system (Workday) while finding ways to optimize processes by utilizing automation to gain efficiencies
- Preparation of the monthly financial presentation to Management and the Board of Directors
- Oversight of revenue/AR, expense/AP process and payroll
- Management of the expense allocation process
- Lead external audits of year end financials and regulatory filings (UK Subsidiary reporting; tax; regulatory capital calculations)
- Implement and maintain strong internal control environment
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders of the firm
Senior Corporate Controller – Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 15 or more of years of professional experience to the leadership level
- CPA certification required
- Experience with Workday a plus
- Proven experience in consolidation of multiple entities, UK foreign subsidiaries a plus
- Industry experience with financial services a plus
