Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated individual who is excited to learn about the world of optometry. All necessary training will be provided.
The Ophthalmic Technician will work directly with our optometrists by preparing patients for their exams, obtaining accurate patient histories, and performing ophthalmic diagnostic testing. This role works closely with patients to ensure providers have complete and accurate information for each visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the EMR system to document patient information and upload test results
- Obtain accurate and detailed medical histories
- Take visual acuities and use an autorefractor
- Perform diagnostic testing and ophthalmic imaging
- Prepare patients to see the doctor
- Keep work areas clean and properly disinfected
- Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- No ophthalmic experience required; training will be provided
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
