Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and organizational support to the Logic/Rhetoric School Principal, faculty, students, and families. This position helps ensure the smooth daily operation of the school office, maintains a welcoming and professional environment, and supports efficient communication across departments.
In addition, the Administrative Assistant works alongside the Facilities Manager to assist with facility-related coordination, documentation, and scheduling needs across campus. This role will also support the Business Office with light administrative tasks (to be determined), offering further cross-departmental support.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors.
- Support the Principal and faculty with scheduling, communication, and materials.
- Coordinate events within the school, field trips, and school programs.
- Manage supplies, student award records, and correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality.
Facilities Support
- Assist the Facilities Manager with organizing work orders, maintenance tracking, and vendor scheduling.
- Maintain facility records and help prepare the campus for events and seasonal projects.
- Help with maintaining the UpKeep website with the work orders placed and ensuring tasks are being completed.
School Operations & Culture
- Promote a positive, Christ-centered environment aligned with the school’s mission.
- Collaborate with administrative staff for smooth communication and workflow.
- Support safety, emergency, and operational procedures as needed.
- Model professionalism by maintaining confidentiality and avoiding gossip.
Qualifications
- Commitment to a Christ-centered Classical education.
- Preferred Bachelors degree but not required for this position.
- Prior administrative experience (school experience preferred).
- Excellent organization, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Professional, friendly, and flexible demeanor
Physical Requirements
- Work primarily at a desk; frequent walking across campus.
- Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally (supplies, event materials).
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $36,000.00 per year
