Job Summary

Veritas Academy in Wylie, TX is seeking an elementary teacher to join our team. The right candidate is someone who is ready to change the world of education. Veritas Academy will be starting its 9th year in the fall of 2026. We are located on a 10-acre campus, allowing for opportunities for outdoor learning and nature study. This is an opportunity to be an integral part of shaping the continued growth of this innovative school.

Position Description

Under the guidance of the head of school, and in collaboration with other faculty, each teacher will oversee a learning studio (classroom) and guide the mixed-age groups of learners who work in the learning studio. The guide will differentiate literacy and math instruction to personalize skills-based learning for each learner as needed. He/she will also design projects and mentor individual students within a Project-Based Learning framework. Guides will play a role in evaluating and refining the existing curriculum and designing and experimenting with new projects, tools, and approaches. Guides will also maintain the studio environment, document the work done in the studio (student projects, achievements, and everyday activity), plan and organize fieldwork and field trips, and assist students in compiling their portfolios and preparing for expos. The guide will also teach Bible studies in an engaging, age-appropriate way and pray with children.

We are specifically looking for one person to specialize in reading and writing instruction and another to utilize project-based learning for science instruction for K-5th graders. Alternatively, we can hire someone for all subjects for K-1st. The position is flexible based on the candidates' strengths and experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a lifelong love of learning and an entrepreneurial spirit. Candidates should have proven excellence in guiding children in or out of a school environment, and an evident passion for helping children thrive in the life God has given them. We seek a guide who loves to experiment, evaluate, and improve on everything she/he does. Candidates should have a deep respect for all children and empathy for the challenges children face in their lives. This is a position for an independent learner who can take direction but can also work with little direct guidance. We are a Christian school, so we are looking for Christian guides with a strong faith who are ready to disciple students in their walk with Christ.
