Senior Associate, Assurance (Compilation & Review) - 100% Remote
About the Role
A growing advisory firm with locations in the Chicagoland area and Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Assurance team, with a primary focus on compilation and review engagements. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys the technical side of assurance, including financial statement preparation, working directly with clients, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
In this role, you'll manage engagements from planning through completion while serving as a key point of contact for business owners and management teams.
What You'll Do
- Plan, perform, and complete compilation and review engagements in accordance with SSARS standards.
- Prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Perform analytical procedures and client inquiries while documenting review procedures and findings.
- Propose and post adjusting journal entries and reconcile client records to support accurate financial reporting.
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact, building relationships and identifying opportunities to provide additional value.
- Manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience at the Staff or Senior Associate level.
- Hands-on experience with compilation and review engagements.
- Strong financial statement preparation skills, including footnote disclosures.
- A solid accounting background; audit experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Familiarity with engagement and accounting software such as CCH Engagement, QuickBooks, CaseWare, CaseView, or Thomson Reuters is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range of $80,000–$110,000 depending on experience.
