Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Tower Tech II - Tower Hand to join our telecommunications team in Plymouth, MI. This role involves working at heights and performing complex installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5yrs field service experience, particularly in wireless telecommunication systems, including 5G, 4G/LTE networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects in a dynamic environment, supporting the expansion of wireless networks and fiber optic systems.
Duties
- Perform climbing and rigging operations safely on towers and structures to install, maintain, and repair telecommunication equipment.
- Operate bucket trucks and bucket operation equipment for tower access and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct fiber and cabling installation to ensure optimal network performance.
- Install and troubleshoot high voltage and low voltage systems associated with telecommunication infrastructure.
- Assist with the installation of 5G, 4G/LTE network components.
- Manage cabling routes and ensure proper rigging procedures are followed during installation processes.
- Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting network issues on-site.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all climbing, rigging, and equipment handling activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed and materials used.
Experience
- Proven experience working with high voltage systems and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Prior experience with 5G, 4G/LTE, or 3G network deployment is highly desirable.
- Skilled in welding, rigging, bucket operation, and the use of bucket trucks for tower access.
- Strong background in field service operations within the telecommunications industry.
- Ability to climb towers safely using appropriate safety gear and techniques.
- Knowledge of cabling practices, low voltage wiring, and network troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to work at heights for extended periods while maintaining safety standards.
Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate specialized equipment safely.
