What are the responsibilities and job description for the Risk Data Governance Data Engineer position at VeriiPro?
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify data-related risks and associated controls for key business processes, including Record Retention, Data Quality, Data Movement, Data Stewardship, Data Protection, and Data Sharing.
- Monitor and analyze data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive remediation of audit and regulatory feedback.
- Develop a deep understanding of enterprise data policies, serving as a policy expert and educating teams on policy implications.
- Perform holistic platform data quality monitoring, focusing on critical data elements.
- Collaborate with product managers to ensure new use cases comply with data governance policies.
- Contribute to strategic improvements in data assessment processes and analytical tools.
- Support regulatory reporting needs by partnering with upstream data providers, downstream business partners, and technology teams.
- Act as subject matter expert across multiple platforms and assist in developing the data compliance roadmap with the Data Steward Manager.
- Strong understanding of Data Management and Data Governance (metadata, lineage, data quality, etc.).
- 5 years of experience in Data Quality Management.
- Intermediate competency in SQL and Python or related programming language.
- Familiarity with data architecture and data modeling concepts.
- 2–5 years of experience with Agile or SAFe project methodologies.
- Drives Innovation & Change: Analyze root causes, challenge the status quo, and recommend tailored solutions.
- Collaboration: Coordinate across teams, share expertise, and drive goals collectively.
- Communication: Clearly articulate data governance requirements, influence stakeholders, and hold teams accountable.
