Overview
Commercial Manager (Contract Assginment) -- Fulltime for 3 months
Job Designation The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills to be used in performance of US Government (USG) contracting duties, potentially across multiple locations. Oversees the contract and agreement processes for military programs (including direct USG, Indirect, Foreign Military Sales, and direct foreign government opportunities in support of Meggitt’s military growth aspirations. Prepares contractual agreements and provides commercial related advice. Drafts and reviews contractual documentation and negotiates agreements in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements. Ensures compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) or equivalent.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to Commercial Management team. Responsible for generating terms and conditions compliance matrices and making recommendations in accordance with Meggitt policies.
- Coordinates flow-downs of contractual requirements and terms and conditions with all functional departments including program management, engineering, product support, finance, quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, as required.
- Monitors and analyzes the administration of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies
- Evaluate compliance to U.S Government procurement regulations (i.e., FAR and DFARS) and agency-specific procurement regulations (i.e., NASA, NAVSEA, NAVAIR)
- Advises functional departments of contractual rights and obligations; functions as subject matter expert
- Provides input related to work transfer & Low Cost Region (LCR) sourcing activities involving USG end uses to ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal and external regulations and policies
- Utilizes legal resources and other subject matter experts to ensure all levels of risk are recognized and subsequently addressed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
