Primary Purpose Of The Job

Support accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting by performing day-to-day accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes. Maintain strong financial controls through consistent reconciliation, documentation, and analysis in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Contribute to team efficiency and enterprise goals by proactively identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance accounting accuracy.

Does not directly supervise team members.

Essential Duties

  • Perform daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including vendor/customer setup, transaction processing, collections support, and resolution of discrepancies to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial activity, supporting strong operational continuity and cash flow management.
  • Apply credit card and electronic payments with accuracy and consistency to support timely cash posting and reduce reconciliation issues, maintaining reliable financial records.
  • Participate in month-end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, and standard reconciliations, ensuring financial statements are timely, complete, and compliant with U.S. GAAP.
  • Complete assigned balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations and maintain organized, audit-ready workpapers, enabling strong internal controls and reliable financial reporting.
  • Assist with external audit and compliance activities by preparing schedules, compiling documentation, and responding to routine auditor inquiries, supporting timely and well-supported audit outcomes.
  • Prepare internal management reports and custom financial analyses, helping leaders make informed operational and financial decisions.
  • Maintain and document accounting workflows, procedures, and internal control practices, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance across financial processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and provide regular updates to the Enterprise Controller to resolve accounting questions and maintain alignment on priorities and deadlines, supporting transparency and workflow efficiency.
  • Meet established goals, deadlines, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support departmental accuracy, efficiency, and financial reporting objectives, contributing to high-quality team performance.
  • Provide in-office coverage and support for the Senior Accountant and Enterprise Controller during peak periods or absences, ensuring continuity of financial operations.
  • Stay informed of current policies and procedures.
  • Continued professional development through ongoing training and education.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of U.S. GAAP principles and their application in day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial transactions, entries, and reconciliations.
  • Prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to research discrepancies and recommend solutions.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset with curiosity about tools, processes, and best practices that enhance accounting performance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Sage Intacct, Versapay, or other accounting systems is a plus.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet team KPIs and foster a shared sense of purpose through transparent communication.

Required Education And Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in GAAP-based accounting required.
  • Experience performing reconciliations, journal entries, and transactional accounting in a professional environment preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a desk and while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Regular interaction with other team members, including spontaneous and planned video meetings.
  • Ability to effectively perform responsibilities under occasionally stressful situations, including meeting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual standards and workload expectations.
  • Ability to work any shift and required overtime based on business needs.
