Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee nursing services in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, recent SNF/LTC experience, and the ability to ensure high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
SNF/LTC experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct nursing services to ensure safe, efficient, and professional resident care
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff while maintaining appropriate staffing levels
- Coordinate resident care with physicians, medical directors, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
- Monitor quality improvement initiatives, infection control, and resident safety
- Conduct chart audits and oversee accurate medical record documentation
- Support staff education, orientation, competency evaluations, and professional development
- Manage staff schedules, on-call coverage, and emergency nursing situations
- Assist with nursing department budgeting and prepare reports as needed
- Address staff performance, conflicts, and resident or family concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- SNF/LTC experience required
- Five years of management or nursing leadership experience preferred
- Acute care or rehabilitation experience preferred
- Knowledge of nursing practices, long-term care regulations, and quality standards
- Ability to lead nursing staff and make independent decisions
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Pay: $90.00 - $95.00 per hour
