Job Description:
Key responsibilities
CMM operation:
Create and execute inspection programs on CMM machines (e.g., using software like PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Polyworks) to measure parts.
Dimensional inspection:
Inspect parts and materials for dimensional accuracy, comparing them against engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry standards.
Use of other measurement tools:
Utilize various hand tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other metrology equipment to perform inspections.
Data analysis and documentation:
Record inspection data, document any defects or deviations, and prepare inspection reports.
Quality control:
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections, maintain lot integrity, and ensure First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are completed properly.
Troubleshooting and communication:
Identify and report production problems, assist in correcting them, and communicate inspection results with supervisors and other personnel.
Required skills and qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications are beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming software is often required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
- Proficiency with other measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
