What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Veridian Management Solutions LLC?
Veridian Homes, an innovative company with an emphasis on smart growth and green built practices, has a great opportunity in its finance department for an Accountant to join our team!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for multiple entities and departments.
- Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries.
- Actively participate in the monthly financial close process.
- Prepare job profitability reports and review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors.
- Support departmental personnel with a wide variety of accounting tasks including transactional processing (sales entries, cost of sales, job costing, change orders, accounts payable, cash management, etc.).
- Effectively communicate with peers, customers, trade partners, and leadership personnel to facilitate informed decision making.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance, or experience in lieu of degree. Accounting experience in real estate or construction is preferred. Intermediate Excel skills, a desire to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, and a proven attention to detail is required.
