Accounting Clerk
Join our Accounting Team! We are seeking a motivated Accounting Clerk to assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining accurate financial records while supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
About the Role
The Accounting Clerk plays a key support role within the accounting team by assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities. This position is responsible for performing transactional accounting tasks that contribute to accurate financial records and timely processing of payments and invoices. The role works closely with internal departments and external vendors or customers to help ensure financial operations are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
This position is well suited for individuals seeking to build or expand their accounting experience in a structured, collaborative environment. Training is provided as needed to support successful performance in the role.
Essential Functions
Accounts Payable (A/P)
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments in accordance with internal controls
- Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries professionally
- Assist with monthly A/P reconciliations and closing activities
Accounts Receivable (A/R)
- Generate and distribute customer invoices
- Post customer payments and investigate discrepancies
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and assist with collection efforts
- Maintain accurate and complete customer account records
- Assist with monthly A/R reconciliations and reporting
General Accounting Duties
- Perform data entry and maintain organized financial records
- Assist with account reconciliations and audit preparation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the role
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three (1–3) years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or accounting system
- Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This position is performed primarily in a professional office or business environment.
- The role typically involves extended periods of sitting and working at a computer, as well as routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
- Physical demands may include frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry and other office-related tasks, and occasional lifting or moving of office materials up to approximately fifteen pounds.
- Interaction with internal departments and external vendors or customers is a regular part of the role.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position.
- Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Overtime may be required based on company needs).
