Summary of Position Functions

The Network Specialist -Solar is responsible for the continuous monitoring, maintenance, and reporting of client site data acquisition systems. This role ensures monitoring platforms and field devices operate properly, site data remains accurate for real-time visibility and reporting, and alarm systems are correctly configured to notify appropriate personnel of equipment issues.

Essential Position Functions

• Enters and maintains site data to ensure real-time system visibility and accurate reporting.
• Monitors client sites 24/7 to ensure Data Acquisition Software (DAS) and associated devices are operating as designed.
• Configures and adjusts alarm settings to ensure timely notifications are delivered to appropriate personnel when equipment malfunctions occur.
• Generates DAS reports as requested by Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Account Representatives and external customers.
• Maintains detailed calibration records for monitoring devices and coordinate calibration services as required.
• Provides commissioning and communications support to Solar Technicians.
• Assists Solar Technicians with preventive maintenance (PM) activities and system component replacements when needed.

Education and Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years’ experience working with SCADA Systems, networking and Modbus systems required.
• Minimum three years’ field installation and troubleshooting experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
• Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
• Computer software proficiency including Microsoft Project, Viewpoint, RS Means, Trimble Estimating and / or other job-related hardware and software applications that may be required.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
• Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.

• Valid driver’s license required.
• OSHA 10-hour certification required.
