Position Summary
The Enhancement Manager is responsible for the leadership, planning, sales support, production oversight, budgeting, and successful execution of all enhancement projects within their assigned branch. This role ensures high-quality landscape and irrigation enhancements, profitable performance, safe field operations, and exceptional client satisfaction.
The Enhancement Manager develops project plans; collaborates with Account Managers, Business Developers, and clients; manages enhancement crews; and oversees purchasing of materials, subcontractors, and quality control. This position plays a critical role in retention, upselling, and overall branch growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership, Production & Field Management
Provide daily leadership to Production Supervisors, Crew Leaders, and field crews or technicians.
Schedule, coordinate, and oversee all enhancement project activities to ensure timely, high-quality installation.
Conduct regular site visits to verify scope compliance, quality standards, safety practices, and productivity.
Ensure crews maintain professional appearance, conduct, and compliance with Verde policies and safety protocols.
Train, coach, and develop team members in installation techniques, equipment operation, production standards, horticulture, and irrigation best practices.
Review and approve daily field reports, timecards, production logs, and job documentation.
Proactively identify risks, delays, or project challenges and drive timely resolution.
Project Planning, Estimating & Execution
Develop comprehensive enhancement project plans including timelines, materials, labor allocations, and budgets.
Assist Account Managers and Business Developers in creating accurate project proposals, estimates, take-offs, and presentations.
Interpret landscape plans, architectural drawings, and irrigation layouts.
Source and procure materials, ensuring correct quantities, timely delivery, and proper coding of tickets.
Manage subcontractors to ensure timely, accurate, and scope-aligned performance.
Ensure change orders are processed correctly and communicated to all stakeholders.
Client Relations & Communication
Meet with clients to understand goals, discuss project progress, finalize scopes, and maintain positive relationships.
Partner with Account Managers to identify enhancement opportunities and support renewal strategies.
Respond promptly and professionally to client requests, concerns, and feedback.
Maintain detailed records of client communications, project notes, and follow-up actions.
Financial & Operational Management
Manage enhancement project budgets, labor efficiency, and materials usage to ensure targeted margins.
Review branch P&Ls, WIP reports, job cost analyses, and financial performance indicators.
Track job profitability, productivity metrics, and cost controls.
Implement operational improvement strategies to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
Ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and aligned with Verde standards and SOPs.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce all company safety policies and ensure crews adhere to safe work practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
Report and document all accidents, incidents, and near-misses immediately.
Promote a “Safety-First” culture aligned with Verde expectations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, landscape management, landscape architecture, construction management, or related field preferred.
Industry certifications (CLT, Landscape Industry Certified, irrigation certifications, etc.) are a plus.
Experience
Minimum 3-6 years of experience in landscape enhancements, construction, or maintenance operations.
Demonstrated success managing multiple crews and complex enhancement projects with matching or exceeding profitability goals.
Proven ability to read and interpret landscape plans, perform accurate take-offs, and manage field production.
Strong background in horticulture, plant identification, irrigation knowledge, and installation techniques.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Proficiency in job-costing, estimating tools, scheduling software, landscape management applications, and basic MS Office programs.
Ability to multitask and switch between multiple projects with minimal reorientation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues and make sound decisions.
Ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
Physical Requirements
Regular walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs.
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
