Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients in accordance with menu specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, cookware, and dishes through thorough washing and sanitizing procedures
- Support the culinary team with meal assembly and plating as needed for service
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Organize and store ingredients and supplies properly to ensure easy access and inventory control
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, knife skills, and kitchen equipment operation
- Assist with catering setups or special event food service when required
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Experience working in a restaurant or food service environment demonstrates familiarity with fast-paced kitchens and customer service standards
- Knowledge of food handling safety procedures and basic culinary techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, cooking methods, and food industry practices will help you excel in this role
- Strong knife skills and experience with food preparation tasks are highly desirable
- Prior kitchen experience or catering background will support your success in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency
