WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU
As the E&I Planner/Scheduler, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role involves developing detailed job plans, identifying safety requirements, estimating labor and materials, and scheduling work while effectively managing the maintenance backlog. The E&I Planner/Scheduler will use CMMS to create and maintain job plans, enter requisitions, and support the overall maintenance planning process. Working closely with operations and maintenance teams, this position ensures the proper coordination of equipment, materials, and resources, supports plant outages, facilitates planning meetings, and contributes to root cause failure analysis and continuous improvement of maintenance practices. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead the electrical maintenance planning process, including identifying safety requirements, planning work orders, managing the maintenance backlog, and scheduling maintenance work
- Enter requisitions for parts, labor, and services required for planned maintenance activities
- Utilize the CMMS to support the overall maintenance planning process
- Develop and maintain detailed job plans and standard job plans within the system
- Conduct post-job debriefs with maintenance mechanics and supervisors to gather feedback following job completion
Responsibilities:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of electrical equipment and components, including flow, temperature, and pressure instrumentation, as well as PLC and DCS control systems, electrical distribution systems, and motor controls
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure the delivery of equipment, materials, and kitted parts required to execute maintenance job plans
- Enter requisitions for parts, labor, and services required for planned maintenance work
- Utilize the CMMS to support the overall maintenance planning process
- Develop and maintain job plans and standard job plans within the CMMS
- Conduct post-job debriefs with maintenance mechanics and supervisors to gather feedback following job completion
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) activities as required
- Provide accurate documentation to support the bidding and planning of work
- Facilitate weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings
- Collaborate with management to align production plans with maintenance schedules
- Plan activities associated with scheduled plant outages to ensure optimal use of available resources
- Provide reports to management regarding maintenance activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of hands-on industrial maintenance and manufacturing maintenance planning experience
- The ability to read and understand operating procedures, technical manuals and drawings
- General industrial parts, electrical, mechanical equipment understanding
- Any CMMS system experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented team player
- Enthusiastic, self-starter, energetic, organized, and service minded
Physical Demands:
- Must wear and maintain company required Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to: FR pants/ long-sleeve shirt, safety glasses, hard hat, safety-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves
- Physically able to perform the following job essential functions, inclusive of but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, bending, walking long distances, lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 50 pounds, work at heights, continuous work in confined spaces, ascend/ descend/ work from: stairs/ladders/scaffolding.
- Must have the ability to work continuously in an environment inclusive of but not limited to: dust, loud noise(s), walk on uneven or slippery surfaces, outdoors, heat/cold, poorly illuminated areas.

South Bend Ethanol, LLC, is the most recent plant acquisition. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio’s second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio’s advanced engineering and operating technology practices.
