Business Development Manager – Pharma Partnerships (US, Remote)

Our client is a global leader in measurement & monitoring technology

Our client is a globally recognised manufacturer of high-precision measurement and monitoring solutions used in pharma, biotech, laboratories, and other regulated environments.

They’re investing heavily in their US pharma strategy and are now hiring a Business Development Manager – Pharma Partnerships to build and grow a high-impact partner ecosystem (dealers, distributors, OEMs, and online channels) across the US.

If you enjoy combining business development, channel strategy, and partner enablement and want the chance to shape something, not just maintain it this is that kind of role.

What you’ll own

You’ll be the driving force behind pharma-focused partnerships in the US:

Build & expand the partner network

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new pharma-focused partners (dealers, distributors, OEMs, online resellers).
  • Spot gaps in coverage and proactively target the right players in the ecosystem.

Develop existing partners, don’t just manage them

  • Assess current partners: who has real pharma potential, who needs development, who needs repositioning.
  • Create structured growth plans per partner with clear actions, goals, and follow-up.

Partner enablement & sales support

  • Coach partner sales teams on:
  • Ideal customer profiles (labs, pharma manufacturers, data centers, etc.).
  • How to position measurement and monitoring solutions, including bundling with OEM equipment (e.g. data loggers with fridges/freezers).
  • Join key customer conversations where needed.

Shape go-to-market with Marketing

  • Work closely with the internal marketing team to co-create campaigns, toolkits, and collateral tailored to partners.
  • Ensure online dealers present and position products correctly (product pages, messaging, visuals, cross-sell opportunities).

Performance & insight

  • Track partner performance (primarily sales) and act early where support or course-correction is needed.
  • Feed market and partner insight back into sales, marketing, and product teams.

Why this role is attractive

  • Build, don’t inherit – you’re not stepping into a rigid, legacy channel structure. There’s an existing base, but huge room to shape who they work with and how.
  • Backed by a strong global brand – you’re not selling a startup story; you’re leveraging a trusted name in measurement and monitoring.
  • High visibility & impact – pharma is a strategic growth area; your work will be very visible to senior leadership.
  • Variety by design – a mix of business development, partnership strategy, sales coaching, and marketing collaboration.
  • True “player/coach” environment – you’ll have a manager who partners with you, then gives you space to run once aligned.

What you bring

We’re looking for someone who can think strategically and execute pragmatically:

  • Experience in Business Development, Channel/Partner Management, Dealer or Distributor Management, ideally in:

Pharma

Life sciences

Laboratory equipment

Measurement / monitoring / data logging / related technical solutions

  • Proven ability to build and develop partnerships, not just service existing accounts.
  • Comfortable working with partner sales reps and marketing teams from training and enablement to campaign ideas.
  • Commercially sharp, creative in go-to-market, and able to put your own spin on a shared vision.
  • A genuine self-starter: you don’t wait for step-by-step instructions, but you’re self-aware enough to ask for input when needed.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.

You’ll fit brilliantly if you:

  • Enjoy owning a segment and being the “go-to” person for pharma partnerships.
  • Like working with a hands-off, supportive manager who acts as a sparring partner rather than a micromanager.
  • Are comfortable with change and can pivot as the partner strategy evolves.
  • Take pride in being a doer – someone who turns ideas into concrete action with partners.

Regular travel to partners and key customers as needed.
