The Radiology Technologist with Charge Responsibilities will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while also taking on leadership duties during assigned shifts. The Radiology Technologist with Charge Responsibilities will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while also taking on leadership duties during assigned shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic imaging procedures as per physician orders
- Ensure proper patient positioning, radiation safety, and image quality
- Maintain ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety standards
- Take charge responsibilities including:
- Managing exam workflow and patient throughput
- Coordinating with multiple departments
- Supporting and training staff
- Addressing equipment and safety concerns
- Utilize clinical judgment to adapt imaging techniques based on patient needs
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Education meeting certification/licensure requirements
- Oregon Radiographer License (or Temporary License) - Required upon hire
- ARRT Certification - Required within 6 months of hire
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) - Required upon hire
- New graduates must obtain permanent licensure within 6 months
- Prior experience in a hospital radiology setting
- Leadership or charge experience (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle high patient volumes and critical situations
