Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate pediatric patients and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Administer therapeutic procedures to improve motor skills, strength, coordination, sensory processing, and daily living skills
- Document patient progress, treatment changes, and discharge planning
- Provide family/caregiver education to support home-based follow-through
- Collaborate with physicians, PT, SLP, and other healthcare staff
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Participate in departmental Performance Improvement initiatives
- Assume responsibility for patients treated by OT Assistants
- Orient new staff or students as needed; may act as interim supervisor when assigned
- Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association-approved OT training program
- Environmental orientation within 30 days of hire
- California Occupational Therapist License - Active upon hire
- BLS (AHA) - Required upon hire
- Experience in one or more of the following settings:
- Acute care
- Skilled nursing facility
- Outpatient
- Subacute care
- Strong communication and patient-interaction skills
- Ability to work within pediatric outpatient rehabilitation environment
