How Will You Make An Impact & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, verify patient information, obtain vital signs, and document routine information in the medical record according to established procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits, procedures, and daily clinic operations.
- Assist physicians and other licensed providers with routine exams, procedures, and patient care activities within assigned scope of practice.
- Collect, label, handle, and process specimens according to established protocols and applicable safety requirements.
- Support patient flow by communicating care team needs, tracking visit status, and completing assigned follow-up tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness, stocking, and readiness of clinical areas, exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
- Follow infection control, safety, privacy, documentation, and patient identification standards in daily work.
- Current, unrestricted certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Typically requires two or more years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience in primary care or urgent care settings is preferred.
- Proven proficiency in clinical skills including phlebotomy, medication administration/injections, and electrocardiogram (EKG) performance.
- Experience documenting patient encounters and clinical data accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification and evidence of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test within the last 90 days required.
- Demonstrated professional reliability, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume clinical environment.
