Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors at the Assisted Living Facility. This includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces while adhering to established cleaning protocols, infection control standards, and resident privacy guidelines.
Key Responsibilities: Daily Cleaning Tasks:
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and living areas, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.
- Empty trash bins and replace liners in resident rooms and facility areas.
- Make beds, change linens, and ensure rooms are organized and tidy.
Common Area Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize public areas, including dining rooms, hallways, lounges, and activity spaces.
- Ensure restrooms are cleaned and stocked with essential supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in laundry and storage areas.
Laundry Services:
- Wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ laundry and linens according to facility procedures.
- Handle clothing and linens carefully to avoid damage or loss.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to the Environmental Services Manager.
- Respect residents’ privacy and personal belongings while performing duties.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in healthcare or hospitality is a plus.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling laundry or cleaning equipment.
- Tolerance for exposure to cleaning chemicals, odors, and various environmental conditions.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Part-time and full-time positions available.
