Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support an innovative program office. In this position, you will provide project engineering and subject matter expertise in support of modified Virginia Subsea and Seabed Warfare (Mod VA SSW) Mission Systems efforts. Tasking will include providing technical leadership and oversight for requirements, systems engineering, design reviews, integration and testing, and the design, development, and fielding of system subcomponents and capabilities. The successful candidate will coordinate with technical SMEs and government and industry stakeholders, take ownership of assigned tasks, proactively develop decision-quality briefings, and effectively represent Government Lead operational intent across working groups and cross-functional teams. Travel:  Less than 10%

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required, Secret Clearance required

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 10 years of experience in systems engineering with expertise in submarine systems, mission electronics, or similar domains.
• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.
• Experience with Age frameworks (e.g. Scrum) and their application in large-scale defense projects.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. RMF, Zero Trust Architecture).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with shipbuilders, to align subsystem development with construction schedules.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Experience: 

• INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent.

The expected salary range for this position is $135,000-$183,000. This range represents a good-faith estimate and is not a guarantee; final compensation is determined by factors such as experience, qualifications, and government contract labor rate requirements and may fall outside the stated range.
