About Ventus
Ventus is a renewable energy credit (REC) management and compliance firm that helps asset owners, retail energy suppliers, and corporates track, value, and transact environmental attributes with clarity and precision. We work across state RPS programs and voluntary markets giving clients a clean view into complex market signals and regulatory requirements.
Role Overview
The intern supports the Operations and Market Services teams by keeping REC data accurate, organized, and audit-ready. The work sits at the intersection of energy markets, policy, and software tools. It’s hands-on, detail-driven, and perfect for someone who wants exposure to how clean-energy assets create value and how that value flows through registries, utilities, and compliance programs.
What You’ll Do
Operations
- Maintain REC records across registries (PJM GATS, NYGATS, M-RETS, NEPOOL GIS, WREGIS, etc.) and internal tracking tools.
- Assist with monthly account reconciliations, verifications, and true-ups
- Prepare client-ready reports on REC positions, retirements, and compliance progress
- Monitor regulatory updates across state RPS programs and summarize impacts
- Support onboarding of new assets into registries and the Ventus platform
- QA data imports and transaction records for accuracy
- Help refine internal processes, templates, and documentation as the business grows
- Occasionally assist with light commercial research on REC pricing and market trends
Business Development
- Research Fortune 1000 companies with stated sustainability, ESG, or carbon-reduction targets, and identify where RECs, EACs, or renewable procurement fit into their strategy
- Conduct outreach through LinkedIn, email, and company websites to secure the right contacts and understand how sustainability programs are currently managed
What You Bring
- Strong attention to detail
- Curiosity about energy markets, renewable policy, or climate tech
- Comfort navigating spreadsheets and learning new software tools
- Power BI skills are a bonus but not required
- Clear communication and willingness to ask questions
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy

Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachalor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, or comparable field. Both Rising Seniors and Juniors will be considered
- Able to commit to an eight-week summer internship at around 20 hours per week, with some scheduling flexibility
- Must be a Pennsylvania resident and legally authorized to work in the US
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check

- Remote with occasional in-person training (Philadelphia region)
