POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include providing support to the Safety/Compliance and Onboarding Departments in the pre-screening and hiring process of CDL (Commercial Driver License) drivers. In this role, the Senior Safety Coordinator- Driver Onboarding, will review and assess the compatibility of driver applicants with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and the hiring criteria of Venture Transport. This position will have the sole discretion on approval or non-approval of driver applicants. The Senior Coordinator will work closely with the Compliance Manager and participate in monthly meetings to discuss CSA and safety matters.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Reviewing the final Driver Qualification File (DQF) of potential drivers and making decisions on hiring based on those files.
- Ensure all Driver Qualification Files (DQF) comply with all FMCSA regulations.
- Reviewing Driver Qualification Files (DQF) for both on-site and remote Orientation.
- Monthly assignment of training videos for all drivers.
- Maintaining training records to ensure drivers have completed all require training and communicating to Operations.
Requirements
OTHER SIGNIFICANT JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree or the equivalent of 5 years’ experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's degree in related field 5 years’ experience in safety.
- Bachelor’s Degree and Environmental Experience highly preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.):
- Experience in the field of communications.
- Experience in the transportation field.
- Working knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and the Hazardous Materials Regulations.
- Must possess strong verbal communication and written skills.
- Must possess strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Skills
- Safety Management Training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting for long periods of times and standing for long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily office environment but may also be required to encounter adverse weather and conditions.
