About the Job
Ventura Fund Services (“VFS”) is a Fund Administration Firm, specializing in Private Equity funds, Venture Capital funds, Real Estate funds, Credit funds, and Infrastructure funds. Due to growth, VFS is looking for a Senior Manager to provide accounting services including preparation and processing of transactions and financial statements with supporting schedules and work papers for its Iselin, New Jersey office.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include:
• Work directly as the team lead and independently fully manage the day-to-day accounting and operations of each client engagement.
• Supervise and manage the client engagement team for all aspects of the client engagement’s scope of work.
• Have the ability to read through and understand all types of legal fund governing documents for a variety of clients.
• Oversee and manage the format and framework of all client deliverables for each assigned client including capital calls, distributions, financial statements and supporting workpapers, waterfalls, IRRs and any other ad-hoc KPIs and performance metrics.
• Perform a thorough, in-depth review of all bookkeeping and accounting records including general ledger, financial statements together with the supporting workpaper schedules, waterfall calculations and all other deliverables for accuracy and compliance in accordance with the governing documents and reporting standards.
• Perform a thorough, in-depth review of all capital call and distribution allocation calculations and notices and all other related deliverables for accuracy and compliance in accordance with the governing documents and reporting standards.
• Maintain a strong relationship with all client contacts and all other various 3rd party relationships including audit teams, tax teams, legal and banking platform treasury personnel and any other counterparties.
• Assist with any aspects necessary for new fund transition and/or set up including new clients, new legal entities, and new investors.
• Train, teach, supervise and guide all team members of various levels within client engagement team.
• Write and discuss year-end goals performance reviews.
• Adhere to all internal organizational policies and procedures and help facilitate and organize support for SOC 1 audits and other organizational structure control.
• Assist with various ad-hoc special projects and client requests and coordinate with other company department heads for collaboration.
• Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive and confidential data.
• Help and join in on business development and new client or new vendor demos.
Job Requirements, Skills, Education, Qualifications and Experience:
• 15 years of relevant experience working with Private Equity funds, Venture Capital funds, Real Estate funds, Credit funds, Infrastructure funds or fund administration.
• 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proficiency in Private Equity funds, Venture Capital funds, Real Estate funds, Credit funds, or Infrastructure funds and financial service reporting requirements.
• Experience reading fund governing documents and understanding various type of legal and organizational structures.
• Must have strong knowledge of realized and unrealized waterfall allocations.
• Investran accounting software experience preferred.
• Advanced with Microsoft Office – Mainly Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook.
• Effectively strong and articulate written and verbal communication skills.
• Great attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties under strict deadlines.
• Expertise with training, teaching and managing a client engagement team.
• Ability to manage all facets of a client engagement.
• Understanding of company operations and ability to coordinate and manage ad-hoc project initiatives and ability to recommend and employ solutions.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure individually as well as in a team environment.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Consistently maintain a positive, helpful, and disciplined attitude and be respectful and professional to co-workers, clients and other various 3rd party relationships.
Work Arrangement:
All applicants applying to VFS must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note that all US employees are required to work a hybrid schedule, comprised of three (3) days per week in the Iselin, NJ office and two (2) days remotely. About the Company:
