The Director of Marketing primary responsibility is to create concepts, designs, and layouts for a variety of print and digital media as needed by the association, its staff and departments. This person is responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of planning, implementation, execution, and reconciliation of association hosted events. This includes concepting, briefing/debriefing, project plans, selecting/hiring vendor partners, venue relations, contract negotiations, on-site leadership, client management, and project reconciliation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· All aspects of Marketing, Graphic Design, and Event Management
· Experience in driving brand awareness through the creation and implementation of Association strategies.
· Plan, design, create, and timely execute concepts for notices, promotions, and campaigns to be used across all association communication channels and for all association staff and departments, including but not limited to: ads, business cards, stationary, envelopes, flyers, registration signs, posters, tabletop displays, logos, event programs and materials, web graphics and banner ads, newsletters (digital and print), PowerPoint shells, banners and signs, logos and graphic headers, flyers and email templates.
· Manage and create content for the Association’s website and segmented audiences.
· Collaborate with volunteer leaders, staff, and key stakeholders to produce relevant content that meets the needs of the organization, its members, and the public.
· Coordinate timeline for execution of all media with appropriate senior Association staff and volunteer leaders
· Maintain Association’s library of created media
· Continually coordinate with Member Engagement department to enhance all events and their promotions
· Collaborate with communications team on the development and implementation of creative and effective event marketing strategies
· In unison with communication’s staff, prepares a wide variety of often complex materials by writing, editing and developing content including promotional materials, literature, newsletters, online web content, and more.
· Responsible for the coordination and production of all video content. Create and leverage interviews, testimonials, product demos, tutorials, webinars, and other storytelling styles in video format to strengthen emotional connections, engagement levels, and marketing initiatives.
· Experience in producing and optimizing a variety of videos - has a creative mind and specializes in translating a variety of messages into a compelling visual story that is consistent with the brand.
· Continuously add value by providing objective and innovative support services; manage resources responsibly, efficiently and with accountability
· Serve as key staff person on committees and work groups, as assigned; acts as a key contributor for content development
· Oversee contracts, permits, and people resources for all of the events; assist with negotiating and maintaining all contracts relative to the events (i.e., catering, venue, etc.)
· Actively work with team members through tactical problem solving, defining clear performance objectives, and translating challenges into growth opportunities to ensure team engagement
· Perform other tasks as determined by Association senior management
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, graphic design, marketing, communications or equivalent preferred.
· Three or more years of experience in a related field preferred.
· Leadership and demonstrated experience supervising event personnel, teams of vendors and complex schedules is required.
· Proficient on standard office and event software.
· Positive, collaborative, and effective interpersonal skills; strong customer service orientation.
· Excellent communication, verbal and written, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
· Must possess initiative, decision-making skills and the judgment necessary to determine action or approach for events, assignments, and projects.
Requirements:
· Understanding of web design, html, CSS, and content management systems.
· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software
· Candidates should submit a body of media along with resume and references.
