Warehouse Forklift Operator - Shift Flex (70156)

Work Location: Visalia 12310 Avenue 368 | Visalia | CA | 93291

Hourly Rate: $25.16 (Overtime and weekends may be required)

We are hiring for a Flex Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed. 

Shift:  1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm

Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour

Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.80 hour

Job Summary

Performs duties related to shipping/receiving and material transfer. Operates forklift to stack and retrieve supplies and materials. Responsibilities also include documenting and maintaining inventory and ensuring production area organization and cleanliness. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Primary Responsibilities

• Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately.  All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
• Operate a forklift to move material in storage or production areas as directed by the warehouse leadsperson or manager.
• Load/ unload trucks or ocean containers.
• Complete paperwork associated with material movement.
• Perform physical inventories as required.
• Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
• Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a   conscientious attitude always.
• Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Basic computer skills such as the ability to operate a computer touch screen.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. 
• Ability to read, speak and write English.
• Possess a valid forklift license or the ability to obtain one
• This position requires a forklift operator who can stack heavy pallet loads approx. 25 feet high without the benefit of a rack system.  Pallets will be stacked in a cold storage environment with minimal space between rows.
• Driver must be able to maneuver in tight spaces and at heights of approximately twenty-five (25) feet.
• Minimum one (1) year experience driving a forklift in a warehouse or cold storage environment that does not use racks.

Physical Requirements

The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must. Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds. Must be able to climb stairs and stand for the duration of the workday. Must be able to work in a cold storage environment.
