Supplier Quality Engineer
Minimum 5 Years experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Detroit, MI. The ideal candidates should have a strong background quality and auditing, ideally in the field of electronics or mechatronics.
Requirements of the Supplier Quality Engineer
- Bachelor's degree - Science/Engineering/Electrical Engineering is desirable.
- Knowledge of Global Known Quality tools, policies and systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process(es).
- Understands interpretation and application of global quality standards (ISO-9001 & IATF-19649, and VDA 6.3).
- ISO-9000/IATF16949 2nd or 3rd party Auditor certification.
- VDA 6.3 certified auditor is desired.
- 6 Sigma Black Belt is desired.

Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer
- Ensure APQP/PPAP are timely completed for new programs launch.
- Monitor supplier performance while working with the team to meet supplier Quality metrics and objectives.
- Assist suppliers in problem solving effectiveness including root cause analysis through implementation of corrective actions and Read Across.
- Conduct Supplier’s Manufacturing Site Assessments to support sourcing through appropriate forums.
- Expected to identify risks / potential failure modes in supplier processes and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Verify supplier Capacity Analysis Reports. Identify the constraint and resolve it.
- Ability to implement Supplier Crisis Management to resolve any issues with quality or quantity at the supplier facility.
- Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance and continuously improve quality and process and achieve cost reduction targets.
- Monitor supplier complaints and submit root cause and corrective actions to present in the weekly Regional Quality Reviews.
- Maintain IATF16949 2nd party auditor certification through AIAG training.
- Verify on-site at suppliers during PPAP approval process including verification of documentation and capacity run at rates.
- Support Implementation of VAVE activities to achieve cost reduction targets.
- Active participation on Matched Set Category Teams.
- Problem Solving Skills including 8D, 5Y, Six Sigma.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
