A Leading Automotive Supplier in Fort Wayne, Indiana needs a Quality Manager. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Manage customer quality issues, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Oversee internal, customer, and third-party quality audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Lead quality planning activities including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA for new product launches and production.
- Monitor and improve key quality metrics including PPM, scrap, rework, First Pass Yield, customer complaints, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and suppliers to improve product and process quality.
- Develop, mentor, and manage quality personnel while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and support customer and supplier visits, audits, and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 7 years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing, including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management/ERP systems.
- ASQ Quality certifications and/or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
