The Assistant Store Manager is expected to actively participate in, and provide leadership across, all operational areas of the business. Core responsibilities include:


Team Leadership and Training


Lead by Example: Understand and actively participate in all daily business operations, setting the standard for performance, professionalism, and dedication.
Staff Development: Provide strong, consistent leadership and continuous staff training. This includes organizing and leading regular team meetings to discuss performance, share best practices for customer service, and address operational needs.

Communication & Reporting:

Maintain clear, proactive, and open lines of communication with supervisors regarding all operational performance, staffing issues, customer feedback, and any challenges that may arise.


Customer Service and Sales

Exceptional Service Delivery: Provide excellent customer service at all times. This involves actively interacting with customers, maintaining a positive and professional relationship, and ensuring a memorable shopping experience.

Satisfaction Focus: Strive to ensure complete customer satisfaction with both the product quality and the sales service experience.

Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all products and services being offered, and proactively keep up to date with related industry trends, market changes, and competitive offerings.
Problem Resolution: Demonstrate resourcefulness, integrity, and ethical judgment when addressing customer service challenges and resolving workplace issues or conflicts among personnel.


Operations Management and Compliance

Standards Enforcement: Learn, practice, and rigorously enforce all company standards, policies, and procedures for the workplace, ensuring consistency and quality across all activities.
Safety & Security: Understand and diligently follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a consistently safe and compliant workplace for yourself, all staff, and customers.

Accountability: Show clear ownership and responsibility for the completion of all necessary tasks and the achievement of company sales and operational targets, often operating without extensive direct supervision.

Inventory & Supplier Management: Become familiar with and practiced in all procedures for ordering, receiving, and stocking inventory. Maintain positive, professional, and open lines of communication with company suppliers and vendors.


Financial and Administrative Oversight
Cash Handling & Reconciliation: Accurately oversee and manage all cash handling procedures.
Reporting & Analysis: Exhibit strong financial and writing skills, particularly in the timely and accurate preparation of detailed operational reports and financial reconciliations.


Physical Requirements
The role is physically demanding and requires the ability to perform physical tasks essential to retail and kitchen operations. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods of time throughout a shift.


Job Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment or in meat cutting/preparation.
Availability: Must have flexibility in regard to scheduling, including the consistent ability to work during holidays, early evenings, and weekends as required by business needs.
Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively, both via the written word and spoken dialogue.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Professional History: Prior retail management or assistant management experience is highly desirable.
Culinary Background: Prior general restaurant or extensive kitchen experience is considered a significant advantage.
Financial Literacy: Basic accounting or bookkeeping experience.
