About Venning
Venning is a full-service CPA firm with 150 professionals across 15 offices. Each of our offices operate with a local community-based orientation while benefiting from the resources, expertise, and culture of a larger firm. We are passionate about delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to our clients, and about building a collaborative, growth-focused environment for our teams.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Director Of Operations to support the firm's central leadership in driving operational consistency and efficiency across all Venning offices. This role is critical to ensuring that our standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adopted and followed consistently, creating a smooth-running organization where each office performs at its best.
This is a hands-on operations position for someone with strong organizational, project management, and people skills who enjoys making systems work in the real world. The Director Of Operations will spend time in our offices, work closely with staff, and ensure that initiatives are successfully implemented. Over time, this role has the potential to grow into a larger leadership position within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the operational partner to the firm's central leadership, ensuring initiatives are executed effectively across all offices.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Venning’s standard operating procedures.
- Travel regularly to offices to sit with staff, train workflows, and provide hands-on support and guidance.
- Act as a project manager for firm-wide initiatives, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with strategic goals.
- Provide clear communication between the CEO and office leadership teams.
- Track and report on progress, highlighting successes and areas needing attention.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5 years of experience in operations, project management, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and gain buy-in from staff at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to different offices.
- Experience in professional services (accounting, law, investment banking, consulting, or similar) is preferred but not required.
- Hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset — a “doer” who ensures initiatives are seen through to completion.
- Growth mindset, with the ambition to take on greater responsibilities over time.
What We Offer
- An opportunity to make a visible impact across a growing, multi-office CPA firm.
- A close working relationship with the CEO and senior leadership team.
- A collaborative, professional environment where operational excellence is valued.
- Room for professional growth into a broader leadership role.
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
