Just call me Gary (320) 291-5739 We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Glass Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing glass in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help ensure that all glass components are securely and accurately installed, contributing to the safety, aesthetics, and functionality of our clients’ spaces. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your skills and expand your experience in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Measure spaces accurately using blueprint reading and schematics to determine glass dimensions and installation requirements
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, framing, or constructing support structures such as metal studs or trim carpentry components
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and install glass panels, windows, doors, and fixtures
- Handle heavy glass materials safely through proper lifting techniques and equipment to prevent damage or injury
- Install glass in frames, doorways, storefronts, or custom fixtures with precision and attention to detail
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure weatherproofing and secure fitment of glass components
- Perform remodeling tasks such as cabinet installation, fixture hanging, or metal stud framing as needed on project sites
- Read blueprints and schematics thoroughly to follow design specifications accurately during installation projects
- Conduct quality checks throughout the process to ensure compliance with safety standards and client expectations
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fabrication techniques
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, screwdrivers), power tools (e.g., drills, saws), and specialized glass installation equipment
- Experience with construction site procedures including heavy lifting, safety protocols, and site organization
- Knowledge of fixture installation, cabinet hanging, door hanging, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and remodeling processes
- Ability to perform construction painting when required for finishing touches
- Familiarity with handyman tasks such as caulking, drywall repair, or minor repairs on site
- Strong understanding of schematics for precise installation of fixtures or custom glass features
- Excellent physical stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights or confined spaces
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and interpreting project plans
