What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Patient Collector position at VENGROFF WILLIAMS, INC?
The Medical Patient Collector will be responsible and knowledgeable in patient collections, maintain and monitor assigned inventory, follow appropriate escalations and disputes, reconcile payments taken.
Core Responsibilities/requirements:
- Multitasks and the ability to navigate in various billing systems to gather billing and collection information to perform patient collections
- Retain and apply multiple aspects of client requirements policy and procedures
- Read and interpret and EOB Explanation of Benefits
- Enters notes into appropriate databases for future collections efforts and inter-departmental communications
- Works inbound and outbound call queues/ emails, effectively communicating with patients and patients to explain balances and the options/process of making payments
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality control, and performance standards to ensure established goals are consistently met
- Communicate with team or lead any issues or concerns
- Maintains flexibility regarding schedule changes
- Ability to answer questions, escalate when necessary
- Maintain professional control of the call, good phone etiquette
- Confidence in ability to ask for payment which results in collections.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Self-motivated and adaptable to coaching environment
- Positive attitude and team oriented
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Work and Outlook skills
- Language fluency in Spanish is a plus
- Knowledge of Medical or Dental billing experience a plus
